My Favorite Places

The Kalverstraat

The Kalverstraat 
The Kalverstraat is the most famous shopping street in Amsterdam. 50,000 visitors come here every day to the many chain stores, such as H&M, Forever21, Urban Outfitters, River Island and Pull & Bear. On Dam square you will find de Bijenkorf, one of the oldest and largest department stores of Netherlands.

The Nieuwendijk

The Nieuwendijk
The Nieuwendijk is the oldest shopping street of Amsterdam and connects the Dam with the Central Station. In addition to the larger store chains this street has also countless smaller, trendy fashion shops and restaurants.

The Leidsestraat

The Leidsestraat
Right on the ‘ Leidseplein ‘ starts the Leidsestraat, with in addition to the better known chain stores also has many shops for luxury products and body care, such as Rituals, The Body Shop and ICI Paris. Other luxury fashion brands that you will find among these things are Filippa K and the Dutch store Supertrash.

The 9 straatjes

The 9 straatjes
The 9 straatjes (the 9 streets) in the Jordaan are part of the Canal belt. This authentic neighborhood is full of picturesque monuments and has a unique range of specialist shops, often with vintage products and fun, original gifts. For example, visit what’s Cooking, where you always can get a nice gift. Or visit Donna Fiera, a unique Italian shop with striking women’s clothing. After all the shopping you can chill out in one of the many special bars and catering tents that this neighborhood has to offer.

 

The Haarlemmerbuurt

The Haarlemmerbuurt
In this neighbourhood, with has as main streets the Haarlemmerstraat and Haarlemmerdijk, it’s always old-fashioned friendly. Here, you’ll find more than 235 stores and food and beverage outlets, ranging from independent boutiques to trendy, affordable restaurants. A store that you should not miss is Papabubble, a unique candy workshop where the most beautiful sweets of the world.

The historic buildings of the Prinsenstraat and Herenstraat give these streets an authentic and cosy atmosphere. Also there are many elegant boutiques and shops here.

the P.C. Hooftstraat

The P.C. Hooftstraat is the most luxurious shopping street of the Netherlands, with many exclusive shops and haute couture. In this classic surroundings, near the Vondelpark, you can start looking for luxury products from brands such as Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo and Chanel.

The Beethovenstraat

The Beethovenstraat 
The Beethovenstraat is a pleasant shopping street with not only luxury fashion stores, but also a lot of perfume and pastry shops. Nice shops include: the children’s clothing store, MC Bloom and NAN Amsterdam.

The Pijp

The Pijp
The popularity of the pipe, a former working neighbourhood, continues to grow. In the Gerard Doustraat you can find for example ANNA + NINA, a concept store with something for everyone. The utrechtsestraat is a cosy Street with all kinds of shops, from lifestyle to literature and music.

Czaar Peterbuurt

Czaar Peterbuurt
In recent years the Czaar Peter neighborhood grew by an increasingly diverse range of small shops with a specialized product. These include a series of craft products where every culinary heart beat faster: French cheeses, Ethiopian coffee, special olive oil, Italian wines and charcuterie. But above all also in at the authentic gift shops, (children’s) clothes shops, flower shop and interior design shops.
