Sant Medir Festival
This festival is in honour of St. Medir and takes place in Gracia, it has been celebrated on the 3rd of March for over four hundred years now! It’s also called ‘the sweetest festival’ because during the parades thousands of candies are thrown around for everyone to take. The parade starts at 8 pm and ends at 10 pm with fireworks at Jardinets de Gràcia.
Abroad Fest Barcelona
This 3-day festival is perfect for students or visitors who enjoy electronic music. The festival exists for 8 years now and has had artist like The chainsmokers, Tiesto, Marshmellow and more. This year their line-up is just as amazing. They have out- and indoor venues, special activities, a lounge area and food trucks. What more could you ask for? Get tickets here.
Barcelona beer festival
This is for all the beer lovers amongst us, the Barcelona Beer Festival. A three-day festival with more than 600 beers they must have every beer you can wish for. If you think its a little too overwhelming to choose out of all of those, they have ‘beer informers‘ to help you out a bit! The tickets for a day are around 8 euros, get them here.
Barcelona Marathon
If you like running and you want to see a bit of Barcelona, this is the perfect activity for you! The route goes through all of Barcelona and will pass the most famous sights. And if you don’t want to run, you can always cheer for the braves ones that do! For more information, look here.
Rally Barcelona-Sitges
This is not just a sport event, its a real show! With old cars and motorcycles, but the fun part is that the drivers have tho wear costumes that match the age of the car! This show has been alive since 1959 and is still very popular, the route starts in Barcelona (Sant Jaume Square) and ends in Sitges. For more information, look here.
Festival of St Josep Oriol
This festival is in honour of Saint Josep Oriol from the 17th century linked to the Basilica of Santa Maria del Pi. The activities will happen at the squares behind the church. There will be a lot of Catalan traditions like human towers, giants and dragons. The parade is on Sunday morning, make sure you don’t miss out on this experience!
