Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and its with her many viewpoints, beautiful architecture, numerous restaurants and typical trams a nice city for a break. In the middle of the city center of Lisbon, you will find the processed iron elevator Santa Justa. This elevator connects the street Santa Justa in Baixa with the Carmo Square. From the Carmo square you have a beautiful view over the city and you can visit the ruins of the Igreja do Carmo church.
At the end of the shopping street Rua Augusta you will find the Praça do Comércio, also known as Terreiro do Paco. An impressive square where you have access to a nicer triumphal arch. From the square you can look out over the rippling waters of the Tagus.
In the Belem district, we find the Jeronimos Monastery. A large monastery with state heritage on the UNESCO list. For a small price from € 6 euros you can go inside, but just enjoy the monastery itself is also recommended.
In addition to the Jeronimos Monastery in the Belem district, you will find also the Torre de Belém. An old defense tower located on the River Tagus. From here you can see the Monumento Cristo Rei from the Tagus. A high statue of Christ overlooking the Tagus.

In Lisbon you will find many trams, so you can explore the city in a fun way. Especially tram number 28 makes a nice route. Moreover, not only the trams look nice, but they are still useful. Lisbon is built on several hills, so the tram can take you upstairs or downstairs.
