My recommendations of local places to visit in Rotterdam..
Marktet hall
Marktet hall Rotterdam is the first covered market floor of the Netherlands.
Stockholm, Barcelona, Valencia, Copenhagen. Almost every city has one: a indoor food market. A bustling market hall with fresh fish, bread that is still warm, tender meat, innumerable kinds of cheese and vegetables just out of the ground. A market where shopping an experience is and where you can enjoy a drink or snack.

Hotel New York
This hotel is located on a beautiful spot at the port in a beautiful old building. In the summer you can sit out on the terrace, but inside the building it’s also very nice. It’s always very busy. You can go here for breakfast/lunch/dinner, but also for a high tea you’ve came to the right place!

Cinerama
The Cinerama theatre was opened on 15 July 1960. This cinema was completely rebuilt in 1957 for the display of Cinerama movies and got quite appropriate the name Cinerama Theater. The cinema to enjoy each other’s company in the dark. The Interior and the rooms breathe old-fashioned romance.

Beer trade the Pijp
Some things never change and Bierhandel De Pijp (which translates as beer trade The Pipe) is such a thing. The restaurant started in 1898, more than a century ago. Devastated during the bombing of Rotterdam in May 1940 it rose from the ashes in August of the same year in the Gaffelstraat, where it still is now.

Bergse voorplas
Another good thing about Rotterdam is the amount of green space available relatively close to the center. Next to the Kralingseplas and the Vroesenpark you can also hang out at the Bergse voorplas. It’s located in the north and just a 15 to 20 min drive (by bike) from the center.

Maas Bridges
Do what the locals do, follow the river Maas that flows through Rotterdam and connects North and South with two bridges, the red Willems bridge and the white Erasmus bridge.
In the 1970s the old steel Willemsbrug linking Noordereiland and the north bank of the Maas was replaced by a new bridge able to accommodate the increase in traffic.
The Erasmus Bridge is a combined cable-stayed and bascule bridge in the centre of Rotterdam, connecting the north and south parts of this city, second largest in the Netherlands.

Dearhunter Vintage
The handpicked selection of vintage clothes, organised by colour, is outstanding. You can find something for every occasion; summer dresses, leather skirts, comfy jumpers, sunglasses and more, all interesting enough that you won’t find that the person sitting next to you in the train is wearing the exact same thing.
