My Favorite Places

Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré

Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré
On the long Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré near the Palais de L ‘ Elysée are many boutiques with expensive clothing from well known fashion designers (Gucci, Christian Lacroix) and cosmetics. Still more luxurious is the place Vendôme with its expensive jewelry stores like Bulgari and Cartier. At Rue de Rivoli you will find some cheaper clothing stores like Zara, Promod, Etam, Sephora and H&M, but also (too) many souvenir shops.

Rue Montorgueil

Rue Montorgueil
Pedestrian street behind the Church Saint-Eustache near Les Halles. The rue Montorgueil consists mainly of restaurants, cafes, patisseries and Delicatessens. In the streets around it, such as the rue Bachaumont, rue Mandar and rue Montmartre are more clothing stores, cooking stores and boutiques. It’s a nice neighborhood to shop and something to eat or drink.

There are many terraces where you can have fun with watching the passers-by: not only tourists but also French who do their shopping here or walk back and forth to be seen. The shops are open on Sundays up to 1 o’clock

Palais Royal

Palais Royal
Under the arcades of the Palais Royal, you’ll find special stores like vintage stores, Tin soldiers, music boxes and the chic perfumery by Serge Lutens. But also fashion and art are for sale here.

Marais

Marais
The narrow streets of the Marais are chock full of shops with trendy clothes, accessories, art and gifts. The rue des Rosiers is the most sought after street. Here you’ll find kosher delis and designer boutiques. But also in the rue des Francs Bourgeois, the rue du Roi de Sicile, rue de Turenne and the rue du Temple are all kinds of fine shopping.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Saint-Germain-des-Prés
Art galleries, antique shops, book stores and elegant living shops can be found in the quai Voltaire, rue de Beaune, rue de Lille, rue des Beaux-Arts, rue Jacob, rue Bonaparte, rue de Seine and rue du Bac.

For design and trendy clothes you should go to place Saint-Germain-des-Prés (Dior, Vuitton), boulevard Saint-Germain, rue du Four, rue Saint-Sulpice, rue de Sèvres, rue de Rennes (Céline, Kenzo) and rue des Saints-Pères (Prada, Sonyia Rykel, Paco Rabanne).

Cheaper clothing stores are around rue Saint-Placide, the rue du Cherche-Midi and the last part of the rue de Rennes.

Rue des Martyrs

Rue des Martyrs
The rue des Martyrs is a 900 meter long street running from the Notre Dame de Lorette to top up to Montmartre, in the 9th and 18th arrondissement. You’ll find all kinds of fun shops, cafés and restaurants and there is a nice atmosphere. Most shops are closed on Monday. On Sunday they are open from 10-13 hours.

Madeleine

The place de la Madeleine
The place de la Madeleine is famous for its gourmet shops such as Fauchon, Hédiard, Maison de la Truffe and Caviar Kaspia. Here, in the rue Royale and rue Cambon you also find designer boutiques (Swarovski, Pierre Cardin, Chanel) and elegant living stores.

The Cité Berryer or Village Royal (an international side street of rue Royale) is a short pedestrian street (approximately 100 m) on the site of a former market. All historical buildings from the 18th century are in the 90 ‘s restored with the intention there is a ‘ main street ‘ of it. Now it’s a chic shopping street with beautiful planters and café terraces. Here, you’ll find shops of Dior and Chanel bags shop BRIC’s, jewelry shop Agatha and Barber Le Bar des Coloristes. At Boij Le Village you can eat or drink something.

Champs-Elysées

Champs-Elysées
In the golden triangle, formed by the avenue Georges V, avenue Montaigne and avenue des Champs-Elysées, you will find the largest number of luxurious designer boutiques and fashion houses of Paris. Look at the beautiful shopping windows of, among other stores, Givenchy, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Yves Saint Laurent (avenue Georges V), Prada, Gucci, Dolce Gabbana, Dior, Chanel & (avenue Montaigne) and Boss, Louis Vuitton (avenue des Champs-Elysées). Furthermore, you can find on Chanos-Elysées wonderful shops like Adidas, Abercrombie Fitch, Haägen & Dasz, Sephora, Disney, Sony, Citroën and Renault.

Ledru-Rollin

Ledru-Rollin
Unusual shops and bargains you can find in this neighborhood at the punk and skate shops, record stores and shops full of retro clothing. Look in the rue des Taillandiers, the rue de Charonne and rue Keller.

Viaduc des Arts

Viaduc des Arts
Under an abandoned railway viaduct which is now a pedestrian promenade, you can find a row of shops and workshops established that sell art products. There are furniture makers, restoration shops, makers of musical instruments, framers, fashion designers and art galleries. You can also find cafés and restaurants.

Passy

Rue de Passy
In this expensive neighborhood you can find rue de Passy with a mix of shops with clothing fashion and designer accessories of Kenzo, Christofle, Kookaï and Sephora.

Montmartre

Montmartre
Shopping is not limited with the countless souvenir shops on place du Tertre. In the surrounding streets is plenty to do: shops of not so well known designers, vintage clothing and separate gift shops can be found in Rue des Abbesses, Rue Vieuville and Rue des Trois Frères.
