You won’t have any problems to find a ATM in Paris. Most ATMs have step-by-step instructions in your language. In some places you can’t pay with card. The best thing is to pay in a combination of cash and cards. The reason why is because the ATMs are not always working. It’s a good idea to bring a little with cash with you, but not too much! Safety in Paris
The most common crime in Paris is pickpocketing. You should always be careful with your personal belongings, especially in crowded area’s such as trains, metro stations and other popular tourist area’s. Don’t carry a large amount of cash with you.
In the night, you must be careful around some places. It depends on the neighbourhood. Avoid area’s around metro Les Halles, Chatelet, Gare du Nord, Stalingrad, and Jaures. While it’s generally safe, these area’s are known for activity with crimes. Also avoid travelling to the Nothern Paris suburbs of Saint-Denis, Aubervilliers, Saint-Ouen, etc. after dark.

If you’re looking for a post office, just look for the birght yellow signs. Most post offices are generally open from 8am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, and from 8am to midday on Saturday. They are closed on public holidays.

Opening hours in Paris
– Most shops are open from 9am to 7pm, from Monday to Saturday. (some smaller shops may close when it’s lunchtime (between midday and 2pm) On sundays and public holidays are the shops basically closed.
– During the week are the big department stores closed at 9pm. This is also know in France as a ”nocturne”
– The opening hours of the supermarkets are different because it depends on the neighbourhood. Supermarkets are open everyday until 8,9 or 10pm except. On Sunday they are closed.
