When you think of Barcelona, you only think of the standard turistic hotspots to visit like the Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell or the busy Ramblas. But this bustling metropolitan does have so much more to offer! In this post I will give you 3 less known hotspots in Barcelona to visit beside the standard hotspots!

El Raval
El Raval is the ¨creative¨ disctrict of Barcelona, you feel it when you walk trough the narrow streets of this colorful district. You find a lot of beautiful streetart and a lot of creative people from different cultures. It´s a cultural meltingpot because almost 50% of the people who live in this area aren´t born in Spain. You can visit one of the intimate bars and have a good beer or just walk through the streets (include the Rambla of Raval) to enjoy the colorful streetart. There is also a free tour available (every day at 16.45H at Placa Dels Angels)!

Mercat Santa Catarina
In the middle of the area Ciutat Vella, a brightly coloured building attracts your attention: Mercat Santa Catarina, the newest market from Barcelona. This market is fully renovated by a popular architect in 2005. This building is really stunning because of the colourful tiled roof! Visit the Barcelona Cathedral to have a perfect view on this extraordinary building. In the enormous market hall you find a lot of market stalls with fresh products. And if you are hungry at that moment, stop at one of the cozy tapas bars with the most delicious tapas of the area.

Barcino
Back to the 4th century, Barcelona was part of the Romans. The area Barcino has several parts where you can be a part of the Roman history of Barcelona. Have a look at the monumental town walls and the Roman tombs. Beside that there is a part of an old Roman temple which you can entry most of the time free of charge. These are only a few things that this part of Barcino has to offer, visit Barcino yourself and you will notice that there are a lot more beautiful things to see.
