How to transport yourself in Rotterdam..

  • By Bus

The RET has a great number of buses that connect the city center with the different quarters of the city, it’s neighbourhoods and the larger regio and suburbs of Rotterdam.  You can check all routes at the official RET website.

  • By Tram

Tramlines 4, 7, 8, 20, 21, 23, 24 en 25 pass through the center of Rotterdam. All trams end at the Central Station of Rotterdam, the ideal place to onboard your ride.

Times: Mon/Sat 5.00 – 0.30 am / Sun 7.00 – 0.30 am (times may vary per line).

  • By Taxi

Of course you can always take a taxi to make your way through Rotterdam. You have different alternatives, and even a real Bycicle Taxi (covered).

Rotterdamse Taxi Centrale (RTC) 010 – 462 60 60
Rotterdam Airport Taxi 010 – 262 04 06
Taxi St-Job 010 – 425 70 00

If you stop a bycicle taxi in the street you pay 1€ p/p per 3 minutes and for 2 persons it will cost you en voor 2 personen 10€ for 15 minutes voor 15 minuten. I do recommend, nevertheless, to always call before and order one. Like that you assure yourself the ride can be made as not all rides will be done..

  • By Bicycle

Do you want to discover Rotterdam? Get on a bike! Rotterdam has an extense set of bycicle lanes. Don’t have a bike? No worries, you can rent one at the Fietspoint in the “Groothandelsgebouw” next to the Central Station. From about 6,50€ you can rent one. Alternatively you may want to try at Zilt aan de Maas, next to Willemsplein and Erasmusbrug (near Spido departure point). You can also take a tour on bycicle of course. Be Dutch!

  • By Car

Rental cars are available at Rotterdam-The Hague Airport. Not only here but also throughout the city. Count with that all major agencies are represented including Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Alamo. Driving and parking in the city can be very difficult, but may be worth the hassle for those who have chosen to travel through the Netherlands by car.
