Amsterdam!
Amsterdam is a vibrant city with many things to do. Especially during the Christmas days. From Christmas markets to classical concerts, ballet performances or the Amsterdam Light Festival. Wintervillage Stadshart Amstelveen is a Christmas market in Amstelveen’s town square. It’s an atmospheric market with an ice skating rink and sixty stalls selling winter food, drinks and Christmas gifts. For the fifth year in a row Amsterdam hosts the Amsterdam Light Festival. Amsterdam will turn into a real-life fairy tale, sparkling and glowing with over 20 pieces of illuminated artwork from artists all over the world. The Barcelona Christmas lights are called “Els Ilums de Nadal.” Christmas starts in Barcelona when the Christmas lights are turned on every year. They are turned on the 24th of November and stay on until the 6th of January. There are almost 400 locations with Christmas lights in the streets and cover a total distance of 100km. What to eat in Barcelona during Christmas? A typical Christmas dish is “Escudella I carn d’olla.” This is a bowl of pasta shells in a meat and vegetable stew or soup. Another dish is the delicious “carn d’olla” which is a meat dish of stuffed capon or turkey. Most shops are closed both 25th and 26th of December.
